The Roll of Honour of the 2nd Guard Reserve Division at Gommecourt, 1st July 1916

The 46th Division was faced by the men of the 91st Reserve Infantry Regiment and Nos 1 to 4 Companies of the 55th Reserve Infantry Regiment. The 56th Division was faced by Nos 5 to 12 Companies and by troops of the 15th Infantry Regiment, the 77th Reserve Infantry Regiment and the 170th Regiment.  Very few graves of the dead of the German Army remain but there are several scattered across the Somme, one of them being at Achiet le Petit behind Gommecourt.
